Tu penses a quoi?

Tu penses a quoi?

…Leo Ferre

Number 41- Success

I love cards, specially the games of Divination, the Tarots, for their mystical and allegorical symbols.

Number 41, nine cups, symbols of success in love as well as in business…Success

Robin’s wood

When you live in Manhattan, it doesn’t take a lot to go away from he traffic. For that photo session, we recreated an old fashion, West Wild ,”boys hiking “. Three models, a flag, suspenders, a camping knife, a fresh trout, levain bread …everything else was generously offered  by Mother Nature!

Love song (Un dimanche a la campagne)

Florence Leyret-Jeune Photography

How can I keep my soul in me, so that
it doesn’t touch your soul? How can I raise
it high enough, past you, to other things?
I would like to shelter it, among remote
lost objects, in some dark and silent place
that doesn’t resonate when your depths resound.
Yet everything that touches us, me and you,
takes us together like a violin’s bow,
which draws *one* voice out of two separate strings.
Upon what instrument are we two spanned?
And what musician holds us in his hand?
Oh sweetest song

(Rainer Maria Rilke)

Amazing grace

Caroline is a talented French song writer. She also sings, with a deep and sensuous voice. For that photo-session, we played with the light, around her face and her hands, trying to give a sense of intimacy.

The possibilities are endless.

Caesar Young, French Director.

We played with a “James Bondish” concept. A camera as a prop, a bow tie, and a wrinkled shirt…Et voila!

The international brotherhood of clowns

Florence Leyret-Jeune Photography

In 2009, 900 clowns gathered in Mexico City for the 14th International  Clowns Convention. During a week, clowns from all over Latin America meet, learn new tricks, compete and exchange ideas. The Convention aims to establish high standards amongst clowns, as well as an official professional artist status.

Clowns-policemen in Mexico (Polipayassos en Mexico)

Florence Leyret-Jeune Photography

In April 2010, I followed a group of clowns-policemen in Mexico. I had meet them in Mexico DF a few months before, and was very curious about the concept and the persons behind it. They created that group in order to overcome the barrier between the police and the public, specially among the youngsters. Everyday, they make-up carefully, then go into the neighborhoods, hospitals, schools and try to connect with people through humor and affection, using that interaction to open the dialogue about relationships, family values, drugs, corruption…
